Introduction to Drawing

Class Description:

 

Class 1: An introduction to drawing for beginners and novice. Learn to see
again and draw what you see. This class will explain the elements of drawing and
how it is done, and open your eyes to things you might have missed. An
exercise will be given in this first class to help explain the elements.

Class2: Extended instruction will be given on drawing from life. Learn about
perspective and the theory the Renaissance artists discovered to create two
dimensional illusions.

Class 3: The understanding of value or shading will be covered with exercises
to bring your drawing to life.

Class 4: Create a still life drawing based on the elements you have learned.
This is your steppingstone to an artistic career or hobby. Drawing will not be
a mystery anymore, but an understanding of the elements of art, and of the
techniques used.

 

Supplies needed: 

 

Drawing pencils: 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B
Drawing pad: no smaller than 11x14
Kneaded eraser
